Happy to share this news with mozilla community that Meraj Imran and myself with few other interested students from  various colleges have gathered and had a "Mozilla Meet-up".The aim of this meet is to educate passionate students about open source and mozilla.So that,awareness can be brought among the students in such a way that they start contributing to mozilla in every way possible!            

We all had a talk on the most promising products and projects of mozilla  including firefox os and shared our ideas!All the students showed interest in the meet and eager to take up projects from the next meet up's.We hope to conduct many such meet up's and take up many more projects in the near future.I thank all the students for their turn up.

A series of Firefox OS App Days will take place over the course of approx one week in January 2013 in ~20 locations around the world. Mozilla Contributor Engagement & Tech Evangelism will collaborate on this program. The events themselves will be organized and coordinated through the Mozilla community.

We are thrilled to annouce that one of the Firefox OS App Day Hackathon will take place at Banaglore. Please join us at Bangalore on Saturday January 26, to learn, hack and celebrate the Firefox OS, Mozilla's open source operating system for the mobile web.

If you're a web developer, you’ll be right at home coding apps in HTML5, JavaScript and CSS for the Firefox OS. We’ll help you with everything else, including how to access mobile Web APIs and how to use the Firefox OS Simulator in your desktop browser to view and test your mobile apps.

Technology leaders from Mozilla will present new technology built to extend and support the new platform.

Firefox uses a sandbox security model, and limits scripts from accessing data from other web sites based on the same origin policy. It uses SSL/TLS to protect communications with web servers using strong cryptography when using the HTTPS protocol.It also provides support for web applications to use smartcards for authentication purposes.
